Volunteering for NPA is a great way to meet people whilst developing your skills in the environment sector. There are a wide variety of opportunities available to contribute to the work of NPA. These range from formal elected or appointed positions to informal volunteer roles, allowing you to apply your talents and enthusiasm in a way that suits your particular availability and needs, no matter where you live.
Different ways to volunteer with NPA
Volunteer for Branch Committees
NPA has a network of branches across the State. Branches elect a committee each year to manage local activities, and are always glad to receive offers of assistance. Get in touch with your nearest branch now.
Volunteer with NPA State Council
The State Council comprises activist members from diverse parts of the State. They play an important role in setting NPA’s strategic direction and policy, and co-ordinating conservation responses. Being a State Councillor is a great way to apply your skills and knowledge or learn new ones.
Volunteer with NPA Executive
The NPA Executive is responsible for overseeing the financial and operational affairs of NPA, implementing the strategic plan and advancing NPA’s objects. The Executive is elected each year. Positions are open to all members.
Volunteer on a Specialist or advisory group
NPA has specialist groups on landscape conservation, park management and bushwalking / field activities. In addition, we have a growing number of volunteer members on National Park advisory committees throughout the State. NPA also provides representatives to allied conservation organisations. Contact Brian Everingham for further information.
Other volunteer opportunities

- submissions, campaigns, journalism and projects
