National parks are in trouble in NSW. Not only has the Coalition stopped building the national parks network (the rate of national park creation has dropped by 95%), but it’s now openly attacking existing national parks and the National Parks and Wildlife Service.
We have seen plans to bulldoze a motorway through Royal, Australia’s first national park. We have witnessed commercial logging of the Murray Valley National Park. NPWS has had repeated funding cuts, lost 20% of rangers and hundreds of years of management experience.
Together our community of members and supporters has successfully influenced the establishment of most of the world-class national parks and protected areas in NSW.
But no fight is ever won forever and no national park can be said to be permanently protected. Now more than ever we need to join together to protect our national parks.
Give to Protect our National Parks
Together we can make a future where our precious national parks remain protected, are there for all of us and where our native wildlife thrives.
